No Pics This Week

Three weeks today we've been out of our home. A lot of time has been spent house hunting so it's been a busy week. Besides the time it takes to look for a new home, we've had lots of visits with grand kids and Mike had his three month check-up at UCLA for the melanoma in his eye which was good - the tumor has shrunk and the tissue around it looks healthy. YEA! Hopfully I'll have my own story to tell next week. Archie

Living with the Enemy

We're living in the motor home while my people are looking for a new stationery home for us. So, we are living nextdoor to some of the grandkids in an RV park. That is fine with me BUT with our other family comes Hunter, the cat!

I just kept hanging around him and turned on my GR charm. Finally, he decided maybe I was OK.

I thought for sure we were on our way to becoming friends. The very next morning, Hunter disappeared! Everyone hunted all over the park but Hunter was no where to be seen. He was gone for three days.

The consensus was, Hunter was not coming back! It could've been that he got in someone's cabinet which they closed without realizing the cat was inside. Or maybe a hungry hawk spotted him.

Peyton and Garrett were so upset. They went to Daily Vacation Bible School and said a prayer for their missing cat. The next morning, Mike, Dana and I went for our early morning walk and who did we see? Hunter! He was eating cat food that some kind-hearted RVers gave him. They thought he was a pet because he was so friendly - well, he is to people, not so much with dogs. Anyway, they were packing to leave and weren't sure what to do with him; they were sure happy to find out he belonged to someone. So, Dana picked him up and took him back to our spots on the other side of the park.

But then what happened? That cat forgot all about our new friendship.

So, I have to start all over with hij. Oh well...

A Big Change!

This was a week of goodbyes...
Took a last walk with my girlfriends.
Had one last cruise around the park.
My buddy Sean stopped by to give me one last pat, he always made time for me when he passed by the front gate.
Also said 'good bye' to my fan club - the kids across the street.

We sold the house I've called home for my whole life - 9 1/2 years. Mike and Dana were there for even longer - 35 years and 35 days. A lot of memories were made in that house. Now we are off to new adventures. We will surely miss our good friends and wonderful neighbors but we are planning to move closer to our kids in Temecula so that will be fun. Stay tuned...

What's Happening?

I'm not really sure what we're doing right now ... maybe I'll have some answers next week!

ANOTHER WEEK

This week we celebrated Fathers’ Day. I got a card for my ‘un-furry’ dad:

I looked and looked before I found the perfect card "I poop, you scoop"

The inside says, “It’s like we were made for each other” and I think we were! He's the greatest!

News flash! My fame is spreading - I was included in someone else's blog. Check out what is said about me at http://thestilettogang.blogspot.com. Scroll down to June 19, written by Marilyn Meredith. (About the third one down when I looked.)  P.S. I’m ‘fond’ of you, too, Grandma!

See you next week!

SOMETHING IS HAPPENING AT OUR HOUSE

I was walking around the house and found Mike.
What was he doing - snooping in the closet?
So I asked,

"What are you doing there?"
Mike said,
"Cleaning out the closet."

I wondered,

What does that mean?
"Tossing out what we don't use any more."

Uh-Oh!

I thought I better check my stuff!

Hmmm...

 I think it's all safe!

I WAS SO SAD

Mike had to go to Tennessee for a few days and I missed him. Dana looked at the front window and noticed me waiting...

After that, she noticed me waiting everywhere.

I waited patiently behind the couch...

at my favorite 'cool' place - by the bathtub
I stood sentinel at the gate

Mostly, I watched from the front door and when I got tired

I went in the house and tried to keep a happy face.
All the waiting was starting to stress me out!

Then, I thought I heard something!
Someone is at the door!
Dana - hurry up and let him in!

Now I can relax and be happy!

Mike was happy, too!

Oh yea, and Dana was happy, too!
